Dr Jaco Nel

I am a senior healthcare professional with over 30 years’ experience in old age psychiatry, leadership, and medical education within the NHS and internationally. Throughout my career, I have led multidisciplinary teams, supervised and mentored future doctors, and worked across inpatient, outpatient, and community settings. Alongside my clinical work, I have been an ambassador for the Scar Free Foundation and a volunteer with the UK Sepsis Trust, using my lived experience to advocate for research, awareness, and change. I also founded and chaired the Disability Staff Network at Pennine Care NHS Foundation Trust, driving inclusion and staff wellbeing.
