Abdirazak Baraco

I am a certified psychiatrist in Northern part of Somalia (Somaliland). I've ample experience treating patients with psychosis, depression, anxiety, neurological disorder like epilepsy with the comorbidity of mental disorder. I have been working closely with patients and families for the last fourteen years. Moreover, I former director of the department of Mental Health in Hargeisa Group Hospitals, Hargeisa, Somaliland (from August 2020 to June 2023). Hence, I have a plentiful experience and knowledge about mental health issues in Somali communities. In addition I have managed to write papers, assessment reports, and other publications about somaliland mental health situations, problems, challenges and the ways that can be developed. Currently, I am also the Mental Health Services Section within SL Ministry of Health.
